Experiences
The support worker training was created due to our previous experience of recruitment for passionate support workers. Applications were received from some amazing people with personal experiences of support intervention in their lives or someone they knew, who had the passion and some experience, to inspire them to apply for Support Worker vacancies. Support intervention experiences are often positive, individuals who received support also want to give back to the community. The course was designed to empower individuals to gain core skills to enable individuals to apply for support worker vacancies.
The Healthy Relationships training was initially delivered via the amazing Welsh Women’s Aid STAR project for the first two years. Regener8 received enquiries and feedback from schools, colleges, community projects, training providers, police and social services and created a Healthy Relationships course working with Gwent Police and designing an exploitation session based on a true story. Further resources were then created and developed to support with self care and resilience.
Recruitment and Referrals
The recruitment process often used to recruit support workers is a scoring system, the application process is a completed application form where the knowledge and experience is submitted, this information is matched and scored to the job description. If you have the core skills and experience of working in the sector you will score higher, if you only have personal experience you will unfortunately not score as high. It’s the highest scorers that are invited for interview. The support worker core training will enable applicants to score higher with their completed applications and invited for interview.
Referrals for all projects are accepted via email, website, self referral and organisational referrals.

We work with employers seeking out their vacancies to encourage participants completing the training to apply, we support with the application process where required and offer ongoing support where appropriate.
